Little One's journey in the world of Montessori Education - Colours and Fine Motor Skills

If you noticed, in my previous post, there was mentioned of the Boundary method - a method that is intentional to assist the child to focus one's attention confined to a tray or in this case, a box. And that is part and parcel of Montessori style of education. And so begins his home 'evening/night' schooling with us...

He was getting a wee bit ahead of himself and we decided we needed ways to burn off his high octane energy. Hence, credit to missus for her non-stop research and ideas and also to Uncle Google...

And so it begins... with colours. Missus had sown this up from felts and we tried to match it with his Mickey Mouse Clubhouse episode of colours.
Next came sorting those balls into the Ikea Kalas bowls.

 Easy? Eh... no...
At this point, he had more fun emptying them into the basket then anything else...
WRONG! Throwing them around was more fun ... at least in the mind of a 2 year old!!!
Next up: Using tongs to pick up his favourite fish biscuits.
I have to warn you: he's actually used to eating with Tongs... Rice. Mee Hoon / noodles. So this was more or less a fish in the park for him. But more for his enjoyment than anything else...!
 The End.
