Christmas in KK, Sabah

It's Christmas time and dear baby is heading back to the island that he was born on; but instead of Tawau, we are heading off to Kota Kinabalu, where Grandma's house is located...
We have since Little One's birth decided that for certain reasons, MAS would be his official airline carrier as it's just a bit more cumbersome to use AirAsia. Actually, we don't and can't entertain the idea of walking so far as well as carrying him up and down those flight of stairs to the aircraft doors.
Imagine if it was raining... I'll pay a wee bit more, thank you very much!
So here we are in KKIA. Just one word of MAS's 737. On row 8, where ABC is, there is no window. So... But on the plus side, the newly refitted ones come with inflight entertainment. Yay - depends on whether you have time to  watch which unlike us, the first thing we did was to search for Mickey Mouse cartoons!!! :p

Sadly, there were only 2. Ah well...

We were quite afraid that during his bath time, we wouldn't have an appropriate tub for him. Thankfully, this one fitted him just find!
A future child musician? Prodigy? Let's not get our hopes up too fast, shall we...???
"I'll only let my Grandma cut my nails...!"
Nap time with Grandma.
Coincidentally, on the 24th was his 10th month birthday. So...

He's excited! But then again, he's easily excited...!
"Let me at it, let me at it!"
"I'll cut my OWN cake, thank you very much"
"..."
Getting a taste of his 10th month cake which is Black Forest.
For Christmas mass, we went to a local Catholic church. Lovely choir.
Picture time.
The Nativity scene.
Grandma as ...???
Scary right?
Grandma happily strutting around in her Master's robes.
And just like that, it's time to head on home! That was fast!

Goodby KK. We'll come and visit you again... next year! :)

Burger King Heat Activated Hobbit 2 Mugs

Missus and I decided that in the spirit of Christmas, this would be our Christmas Mugs. I know, we're definitely not conventional! :p

But hey, they are different and special...
So only with hot water, will it change. And it's got to be above 45C or so the box says.

 Done.
 Bilbo's theme mug.

We got 2. So here's the 2nd one.
 Now what/who can this be?

 Gandalf!
 And Thorin.
The images stay on on the mug for quite some time and it is quite fun to see in appear.

How long this can be kept up due to frequent washing, we have no idea.

But it's fun while it lasts.

Sadly and understandably, Legolas mug was sold out when I set forth to purchase.
The final mug is a map. Not too sure what it is tho.

You can get these mugs (if they are still available) for RM6.90 without having to purchase anything from Burger King...

SeeBaby QQ2 Stroller Review amongst other things at 9 Months

Crossing into 9 months and soon 10, he's getting to be quite a character.

"Mummy, Daddy. I'll help clean my cot bars, k?"
Hmmmm... One is Big and Round and Fat. The other is thin, light and ...
 "What's up???"
Now, as most parents know, strollers are a blessing and a bane. Blessing coz when you want your baby to sleep or he/she is too heavy, you use it... BUT, they can be huge and bulky and practically take up all of the space...in...your...boot!

However the real reason why we got this was simply because sometimes, yours truly has to park at a distance from his house complex. So carrying a 9kilo on a hand isn't easy...

Therefore, we toyed with the idea of those seat+stroller combo but it's heavy and just cumbersome.
After some investigating, we came across this: SeeBaby QQ2. As you can see from above, the footprint is just thin! Think of this stroller as AirAsia (Low Frills) vs Malaysia Airlines (Fully Loaded) and you get the idea.

Outgoes the padding, cup seats, back/bag hooks, huge wheels, suspension, complex locks, etc...
In the end, it's thin. Light (circa below 3 kilos). Heck, I can even use a finger to hold this up when fully folded!
The downsides? The biggest one is due to it's small wheels. As such, every rough surface (bumps et all) is transmitted upwards and felt by the occupant.
The 2nd major downside is that when you're shopping, you can place bags onto the handles of your regular stroller. Here, it's not possible and if you did, it might just topple backwards as it's that light!

On the plus side, you...can...actually...place...this...in...your...front...seat!!! I kid you not! And you get your boot back. And it costs around RM120++.

I think those reasons are enough WHY we got one as most of the time, he'll be in a shopping mall for quick trips, and we can now ALL have our cake and eat it! :)
