Semporna - Dragon Inn

Dragon Inn is a floating hotel. Not really floating but one built on stilts. So you walk across the plank walk to the hotel and you stay above the sea. As such, it makes a wonderful environment for photographers at night...

Water and Lights equals Reflections equals Long Exposure shots... like below.

Is there another floor down there?

Now, if you're afraid that your human waste will just be flushed away down into the ocean, then you have nothing to worry about as the sewage pipes connect them all. But be warned. It's airy out here... literally! All that's between you and the ocean are the planks beneath your feet as you bathe with really tiny slits for the water to ....er.... drop down.
The view of the room. Simple but effective.
The End.

Sandakan... MORE Food!!!

Stop reading and scrolling if you don't want to feel hungry...

The below was eaten from the famous Sim Sim Seafood Village.
Black sauce Sotong... Very nice, but they could have cleaned the internals 1st, just to warned
Scallop. Prawns. Fish. Noodles.
The dry version.
Now, Sim Sim village is a village built on stilts, jutting out from beside a major road in Sandakan. And where you have village on stilts, you have nice long corridors like this one.
Moi near the entrance of the village.
Dinner was at Restaurant 1Malaysia Steamboat Buffet. It's situated on top pf Trig Hill and you have a nice view of the harbour below you. I've taken photo's from there before...

So here is yours truly for a holiday to Tawau, Sandakan, Semporna, Lahad Datu and the 3 islands off the coast of Semporna; Mabul, Kapalai & Sipadan.

But 1st, Tawau's airport.
Most people are not aware that there is a nice forest reserve for trekking and such. Heck, there are even waterfalls but sadly, it was raining as we got there. So this is all I have. If you're interested, Google out Tawau Hills Park.
A small fall...
Now, we know that East Malaysia is famous for seafood. I'll let the piccies do the talking.
Mantis prawns aka Lai Liu Har anyone?
Lobster going for RM120/kilo and it's a whopper too! Wonder how much this baby will cost you?
What's KLCC, EPF, KLIA, etc got to do with this Seafood Restaurant? They are acronym for drinks and I've basically forgotten them all!

The above was eaten @ Kam Ling Seafood.

My of my... Black sauce chicken. And look at the sausage... and it's that potato???

Yes, your soup comes with pumpkin, barley, dried veggie, etc... a real wholesome soup!
And it's all to be had @ Mongolian Chicken Rice shop! Yup. Mongolian. It's actually steamed chicken in black sauce (I guess). Definitely very different from your run of the mill chicken rice. The sausage is thick and fatless too. A definite must try.
Only problem is though is that spaces are limited and it's kind hot. Else, you gotta have it. Foodie pictures were taken by my wife's Panasonic LH20.

Shark Filled Post!

Little One has been nothing short of bewitched over Sharks. And for 2017, his headmistress had a shark costume for his annual recital then....
