Macross/Robotech SDF 1

I recently bought the Bandai Macross SuperDimensional Fortress (SDF) 1 model kit.

Didn't like the colour that I was supposed to paint it with, so I decided on the original as seen in the animation colours. Needless to say, my painting sucks as can be seen from the images attached...

Lens used is the Pentax FA 50 /f1.4 stop'ed to F5 and ISO400...

2008 - Miniature Trains @ PJ Hilton - Part 1

This was something that I always wanted to do, but never got around... and usually during Christmas day, I'll be zzzzz away, after spending almost 3/4 of my night working in church for the Christmas Eve masses.

This time, I wasn't and I decided to treat myself. PJ Hilton hotel, on a yearly basis always had miniature trains running around in their lobby. And I heard great things about it, not to mention that these trains are sponsored as you will see and of course, $$$ goes to charity.

So on this fine Christmas Day of 2008, I grab'ed my trusty old SLR and every lens I ever owned and fired away...

Merry Christmas folks. As Santa below would say, "Ho Ho Ho"!

Now where are them trains???

2008 - Miniature Trains @ PJ Hilton - Part 2

4 TRains in 1 shot! All that was missing was the old Steam locomotive, but I'll count my blessings! :)

2008 - Miniature Trains @ PJ Hilton - Part 3

This was one of those shots that made me wait ages coz they run through different tracks, with the right one on a much longer path... But the wait is definitely worth it!

2008 - Miniature Trains @ PJ Hilton - Part 4

The Nestle Train...
I really love this shot. It took a few tries to get this right, crossing each other, that is...

2008 - Miniature Trains @ PJ Hilton - Part 5

Pirates ahoy? :)

Spot the YCF?
Santa taking a break... but it seems odd to see him nestle amongst cannons!
Even the Dragon and a Witch got an act together...
This house is really cute... and if you can read the sign, it says "Dare 2 Fail"...
The End.

This event is available to the general public until Jan 4th (I think)... Just walk in into Hilton PJ, and turn left. This thingy is opposite the restaurants.

A night of Indian Classical Dance

Right. A lot of my ex colleagues are probably waiting for this... So Unca Deva. Shots taken during the 10th anniversary of the dance school. Congrats.

While I'm sad to say that I didn't take any pictures of your choreograph piece, it was easily the best and most impressive of the night. So, well done... and when are we getting our own private viewing of you alone performing what you choreograph eh?

I don't know about you, but the poor girl in the middle doesn't look to happy... Must have had a bad day?

Now, this bloke certainly stole the show with his energetic moves and dances... Or probably more because he was the rose amongst the thorns, i.e. only MALE! :)

"Come on my little friend... smile..."

So here's my dear friend Deva getting his moment on stage...

The founders, teachers, etc all on up stage...

Gua Tempurung

Gua Tempurung.
I thought of writing an introduction of what this is, but then, ah heck, the officially website does it soooo much better. So go have a read here.

We basically went for the extreme tour, or otherwise known as the Grand Tour; which is a massive 4 hours (almost), getting yourself wet (at times really wet coz your crawling or duck walking in the river/stream) to dry...

You start wet and end up dry. And after climbing almost the same amount of steps for Batu Caves (circa 280), you end up with this view from the top. A massive cavern, which if you look to the bottom right, is a staircase that you would walk downwards from where you are...
Or upwards if you are just venturing with the dry tour only.

The Entrance/Exit.

There were more shots taken, but exhaustion set it and trying to take pictures on a 3kilo dSLR, even with Anti Shake just didn't cut it for it. So this is all I've got. Really... really tired... when you also had to walk through the river current about 3/4 the time your in there!

Pirating away!

Over the weekend, I met up with some friends who were promoting Pirates Of The Caribbean Trilogy which would be shown over in Star Movies.

As usual, with pirates... well, they ARE pirates... so what can I say? :)

HDR of Angkor Wat & Bakheng Hill

Going to these places, with a very prominent sun tends to turn the sky a very lighter shade of blue / white.

Bumming down /up the Exposure (EV), you either save on your sky, but in return a very darken image or screw the sky and get your details.

So photographers use a technique called Exposure Blending; this merges 2 images together, shot in different EV to give you the details but still save the sky...

Cambodia # 16 - Finale

On the last day, it was off to visit the Cultural Village. Below are what captured my attention there.

And finally, pictures of the streets outside the restaurent where we ate on the last day. As one can see, motorbikes rule the streets, not to mention the fact the streets are dusty due to the amount of mud lying around.
This shot shows the condition of the street better.
And that's it folks. It ends here... Hope you have enjoyed what I've put up.

Avillion Admiral Cove

Sometime back, moi famille visited a different Avillion resort - Admiral Cove. It's approximately, 5km away from the normal Avillion th...
